The stage is set and we are ready to go! This year's IBJJF Kids International Championship has brought the best of the best jiu jitsu kids into on place, right here at the Walter Pyramid in Long Beach, California. The cool crisp air is circulating, and our youth competitors are warming up.

2014 Mundials World Jiu Jitsu Championship - General Information

The time has come for jiu jitsu competitors of all levels from across the country and around the world to come together once again in May, in California USA, to enjoy the 2014 Mundials. From what we have heard, many competitors just recently traveled out to this area in March for the Pan Ams championship, another high level competition, and hope that one day these large tournaments could be slip from coast to coast, with either Worlds or Pan Ams being held somewhere on the East Coast such as New York, Orlando, or Miami.

The Rise of Cicero Costha - Training Top Competitors

BJJ Hacks took a trip to Sao Paola, Brazil to find out more about Cicero Costha, and how he continues to produces some of the most elite Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Champions. Costha talks briefly about how he started off with just a few students, began competing and winning titles at International competitions, and his gym slowly began to grow. He speaks of training for competition, and encourages his competitive students to train like they are competing, making competition seem like everyday training. His students speak of the intense schedule of drilling, sometimes 1,000 repetitions per day. Costha love for competition has fueled his ideas and way of life inside his gym. The lifestyle and mentality he has put on his students is most certainly a factor to his success, and for the success of this Brazilian Jiu Jitsu students.

ARTICLE 1 – REFEREEING

Authority of Referee

The referee is the highest authority in a match.

The referee ruling on the result of each match is incontestable.

The ruling on the result of a match may only be changed under the following circumstances:

• If the score on the board has been misread;

• If the athlete declared winner submitted his/her opponent using an

2013 IBJJF Miami Open IO Championship - Competitor List

The IBJJF Miami IO registration closed early again this year, leaving a few competitors out in the dark that had purchased plane tickets and hotel rooms to be in Miami for the competition. Whether or not any of those locked out competitors will be allowed into the tournament is still unknown...perhaps they will be able to open up a few spots for some of them

The tournament will take place at the Miami Dade College Kendall Campus, 11011 SW 104th Street
Miami, Florida, 33176. The event is a one day event, happening on Saturday, October 19th. The event is known for filling up, and there does not seem to be any IBJJF events in Florida. Perhaps it is time for IBJJF to consider a 2 day or hold another tournament in Florida during the year? With so many great Jiu Jitsu schools and competitors living and training in Florida, it seems like a great idea!
